Facebook is suing a networking site for teachers called Teachbook.com... why? For using the word "book" in its name, that's why.
Marky and his boys filed in California district court alleging that Teachbook is "riding on the coattails of the fame and enormous goodwill of the Facebook trademark..."
Teachbook isn't going to roll over and plans to file an opposition within the month. Good on them!
Greg Shrader, one of the TWO people running and maintaining Teachbook went on the record and said "At the end of the day, they're just trying to bully us and we're not going to roll over,".
So who's next? Any site with "face" or "book" in it's URL? This isn't the first time they've gone after "book" sites, and I don't think it will be the last.
And on that note.... how is f#@kbook.com still up? You think they'd go after the porn parody sites first.
Sigh
